Federal Natural Resource Policy Account (FNRPA)

Recognizing the need for local voices, Governor Freudenthal has used the FNRPA to fund state and local participation in federal natural resources planning processes. The funding allows for full participation by the entities that are most affected by federal policy decisions. FNRPA funding has been used for litigation, training and state/local coordination efforts on issues as diverse as coalbed methane development and prairie dog populations.
