WYOMING LAUNCHES STIMULUS WEBSITE

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - The State of Wyoming launched a website on March 19, 2009 to offer the public a place to learn more about the impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 on the state.

The site, found at: http://wyoming.gov/recovery, will offer fast, direct access to information about the stimulus bill and how it relates to Wyoming.

“The public needs to know how their government is spending this stimulus money,” Gov. Dave Freudenthal said. “This is a place where residents can see exactly how this funding is being put to work in Wyoming, whether it’s through highway projects, water projects or many other infrastructure efforts. Our goal is to use this funding to preserve jobs in Wyoming.”

Website visitors will find answers to commonly asked questions and links to informational white papers from the state agencies that will be affected by the stimulus bill.

“This Website will be updated regularly with the most current information we have on federal recovery funds and their impact on Wyoming,” said Lynne Boomgaarden, Director of the Office of State Lands and Investments who heads up the state’s recovery and reinvestment team.

“The site also includes links to other valuable resources, articles, and Websites, including the main federal recovery site, www.recovery.gov,” Boomgaarden added. “We look forward to hearing feedback about the new site, and hope everyone who uses it finds it easy to navigate. Most importantly, we hope it will offer them quick and easy access to the information they are seeking.”

"This website is a great initiative that fully supports the Governor's mandate on transparency and accountability," said Wyoming's Chief Information Officer Bob von Wolffradt.
