WATER SAFETY MONTH
WHEREAS, the citizens of Wyoming promote the vital role that education regarding the topic of water safety play in preventing drownings and recreational water-related injuries; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Wyoming can be guaranteed the safest water-related recreational activities by participating in recreation at treated-water aquatics facilities; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Wyoming recognize the vital importance of abiding by the rules set forth by the guardianship of trained and certified aquatics professionals who develop water-safety rules with their prudent enjoyment in mind; and
WHEREAS, the State of Wyoming identifies effective water-safety programs as the best way to prevent drowning and recreational water-related injuries;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DAVE FREUDENTHAL, GOVERNOR, do hereby proclaim May, 2008, as
“WATER SAFETY MONTH”
in Wyoming, and do urge all citizens to support and promote this observance.
