COLLEGE COLORS DAY IN WYOMING
WHEREAS, College Colors Day, which coincides with both “back to school” and the kick-off of intercollegiate athletics, including football, on college and university campuses across the country, seeks to celebrate and promote the traditions and spirit that make the college experience great through encouraging fans, alumni and students to wear University of Wyoming apparel throughout the day of August 29, 2008.
WHEREAS, the University of Wyoming is the state's only provider of baccalaureate and graduate education, research, and outreach services, providing educational opportunities to thousands of Wyoming residents and non-residents; and
WHEREAS, for more than 120 years, the University of Wyoming has been educating citizens of the State of Wyoming; and
WHEREAS, intercollegiate athletics in the State of Wyoming provide scholarship opportunities to thousands of young men and women; and
WHEREAS, College Colors Day promotes higher education in Wyoming through increased public awareness and celebrates the achievements of the University, acknowledging their critical and fundamental importance to the State of Wyoming;
NOW THEREFORE: I, DAVE FREUDENTHAL, Governor of the State of Wyoming, do hereby proclaim August 29, 2008 as
“COLLEGE COLORS DAY IN WYOMING”
in Wyoming.
